Setback for AstraZeneca: Swiss regulatory authority rejects the vaccine - and demands more data
The AstraZeneca vaccine was rejected by the Swiss regulatory authority "Swissmedic".
The reason is insufficient data for approval of the vaccine from the British-Swedish group. Additional information on safety, effectiveness and quality is required.
As a precaution, the federal government has ordered 5.3 million cans from AstraZeneca. However, AstraZeneca is currently struggling with delivery problems.
